Montréal Science Centre was created from the former sheds used in the port during its industrial and maritime era. Located along the St. Lawrence River, directly next to Old Montreal and city's business district, this large and bright museum has seven permanent exhibits. The Science Centre's amazing, fun, and surprising exhibitions allows visitors to explore, learn, and understand through a variety of interactive means. Permanent exhibits include Science 26 showcasing science and its daily uses, a multimedia exhibit about the future of technology and a technological showcase. This is also home to the IMAX Telus Theatre showing the latest IMAX movies. Nine "fast-food" restaurants at the Food Chain serves up a wide variety of quality dishes and treats right next to the museum. This museum has become one of the Old Port's most popular attractions.
