Tips and reviews

Here's what Trippy members say about Grand Ole Opry:

"Head to Tulsa for the Philbrook Museum of ArtGilcrease Museum and Buck Atom's Space Cowboy on the historic Route 66. From there drive east to Bentonville, Arkansas, home of Walmart (which has invested heavily in the community, providing lots of entertainment options: !"  See More

"Hello Lori, My Mom & stepdad lived in Nashville for fifteen years, and I got to know the place fairly well. I don't know what you're interested in seeing, or what your budget is, so I can only make some general suggestions. First let me say that Nashville is spread out over a pretty wide area. There are tall buildings downtown, to be sure, but generally the town built out, rather than up. This leaves you in a position where you may not be able to reasonably walk to everything you want to see. I certainly am not suggesting that you'll need to drive everywhere you wish to go, but you may need to drive to each area you wish to explore in depth. Nashville does have a public transit system, however. Depending on where you stay, you may be able to take advantage of the city's bus system. Here is their URL; ."  See More

"Visit Beale Street, enjoy the Blues Music scene, Sun Studio where many great talents made their first recordings, Mud Island river park and steamboat museum, eat barbecue and ribs anywhere, hit the Peabody Hotel and watch The Ducks make their grand entrance or exit, then back on I-40 East to Nashville Country Music Hall of FameGrand Ole OpryRyman AuditoriumCheekwood-Art & GardensArts District."  See More

"There is the Grand Ole Opry and Broadway downtown."  See More

"Also, a drive out to the Grand Ole Opry would be neat - we went there for a concert at night, but didn't realize how far away it is from Nashville itself - would've been nice to spend a half-day looking around Opryland USA to check out the Gaylord Opryland Resort and all the amenities surrounding it (about a 35-40 minute drive from Nashville)."  See More

"While in Nashville try to see the Gaylord Opryland Resort, it is really neat and there is the Grand Ole Opry and a country music museum which is free( donation appreciated."  See More

"If you are looking for a large musical venue, then Ryman Auditorium, or Grand Ole Opry are my top two."  See More

"In the late twenties, it became the home of the 'Grand Ole Opry' and became the flagship for WSM which is still America's country station."  See More

"Grand Ole Opry is a little drive outside of the city (20 min), but quite worth it to say that you've been there (a concert is a bonus but not necessarily required)."  See More
