NileGuide Expert tip:
There are only a few spots to stand inside the restaurant, but there is a park just a couple of blocks away, between Forsyth and Chrystie Streets, where you can enjoy your lunch in clear weather.
Located just off Canal Street near its eastern end, this popular Chinatown spot is a perfect place to grab a fresh, delicious lunch on the go. The dumplings are stuffed with chives and pork, vegetables, or vegetables and pork, and can be either fried or boiled, and enjoyed with soup or without. A variety of soups and noodle dishes fill out the menu, but the sesame pancake--a kind of sandwich, with fresh fillings stuffed into a pillowy fried bread studded with sesame seeds--is a standout. Beef, pork, tuna or vegetable varieties are available.
