The Black Cap Grille represents a handful of North Conway restaurants that are bringing classic gourmet dining to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The setting is distinctly modern with gleaming counter tops and pastel shade lighting. The menu is expansive and fun featuring generous portions. Each dish nicely presented when brought to the table. Highlights include Maine Lobster Risotto Cakes with chunks of Maine lobster, delicately roasted red peppers and sweet corn blended into creamy risotto, sauteed and served with basil aioli; the 2369 sandwich (named in honor of the restaurant's namesake - the 2,369 foot summit of nearby Black Cap mountain) that is piled high with caramelized onions, melted Swiss cheese and pastrami on grilled Rye break with a nice helping of Russian dressing; and Jerked Tenderloin of Pork, a tantalizing fusion of New England and Caribbean flavors with two black bean cakes and the spicy freshness of strawberry habanero sauce. It's an adventure in eating that blends well with the invigorating scenery and fresh air of the White Mountains. Definitely worth a try!
