Kailua/Kaneohe
Consistently ranked among Hawaii's most quaint and laid-back neighborhoods, Kailua also boasts one of the world's most famous and beautiful beaches: Lanikai. Just west of Lanikai is equally beautiful (though more populated) Kailua Beach, where nearly every day windsurfers and kite surfers delight in the windy sea. Kaneohe, just ten minutes from Kailua is home to one of the larger marine bases on the island, making it a military headquarter.
