Lanikai Beach is truly what beach dreams are made of. It's about a half mile long, and used to be longer before the dreaded sand erosion happened. Yet it's still amazing. The sand is fine and white, the water is bright blue, and often shallow and mellow, the two lone island linger out at sea creating the perfect backdrop. Extremely expensive homes line the back of the beach, but visitors are welcome to use several public accesses along the beach.There aren't any lifeguards here, but the water is generally much calmer that other Oahu beaches, but always use your best judgement when entering the water. Children love to play here, and adults often bring out canoes or kayaks. This beach is a great place for a full day on the ocean, so bring the family, beach toys, sunblock, food, etc and have a great time. Also, you won't be alone here, it's very popular, but worth it.
