NileGuide Expert tip:

The masks and other carvings are well worth the visit.

Description:

This site, of Zapotec influence reached its hight around 700-750AD.
Though it's not too big, the Cacique's Palace and the Priests' Palace are magnificent. But what is really important, beautiful and almost unique, are the two large stucco masks with images of cocijo, the Zapotec rain god. Some other carvings of skulls, animals, faces and other ceremonial elements are well worth the visit as well.
