Description:

The Chocolate Museum is owned and operated by the famous Ganong family. The Ganong family has made their hometown of St. Stephen, NB "Canada's Chocolate Town" and has been an operational family business since 1873. Ganong has been influential in many developments in chocolate ... they were the first to offer heart shaped boxes and sold chocolate bars with nuts in North America before anyone else!

The museum is open from 10 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday and is closed December, January and February. The operating hours are extended in July and August. The town of St. Stephen also celebrates the Chocolate Festival every year during the first full week of August. This fact illustrates the economic and social impact of this company on this charming town's past, present and future. The commercial Ganong plant is now located in a large, modern facility near the town's transportation framework. The Chocolatier is an adjacent  retail outlet where you can purchase Ganong products. The museum and the retail outlet are collectively housed in the "old factory" which is located on St. Stephen's main street, at 73 Milltown Blvd. This delicious attraction makes for an interesting and worthy spot to visit when in Charlotte County.
