NileGuide Expert tip:
Although the show is not too raunchy, it's not kid-friendly either.
The Playhouse Restaurant and Theater is a rare treat. A musical show that's not tacky or over the top plus some nice food to go with it. Opt for the dinner and show combo (rather than getting tickets for "show only"), which includes a set dinner with three fixed dishes. If you have special dietary requirements or simply want something different, you can order a la carte. Food is not cheap, though –A small pizza will set you back about 285 baht (U$9.50) and a small salad costs 190 baht (almost U$7). The bar offers a good variety of wines, beers and cocktails. The show features dancers, singers and a mild cabaret-like variety show. A few times a month (call for a schedule), you can catch performances by the Andaman Players, a local amateur group unique for featuring a mix of expats and local Thais. After the show, head to the back for a drink at their beer garden.
