"Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a decent place to grab a "high end" coffee to wash down your Voodoo Doughnuts."  See More

"Unless you're a skier, then winter is the only time of the year NOT to come to Portland. All the other seasons are beautiful and Portland doesn't get as hot as Nevada, so bring a sweater or jacket because evenings can get chilly, even in the summer. I love staying in the downtown area just because it's so walkable. Peruse the shopping and restaurants near Portland SW 6th & Yamhill, walk down to Tom Mccall waterfront park portland OR and across the historic Hawthorne Bridge. Enjoy the food trucks at 10th and Alder on your way to Powell's Books. (There's a map of foodtrucks here: >"  See More

"If your heart is set on Voodoo Doughnuts, by all means go for it, but I feel like it's a little overrated."  See More

"Don't miss Blue Star Donuts as it's way better than Voodoo Doughnuts But you should do your own comparison!"  See More

"Also, the original grand Portland hotel where Elvis stayed is now an Embassy Suites about two blocks from the light rail on the river, across the street from Voodoo Doughnuts #1, and an easy walk into the Pearl District."  See More

"Voodoo Doughnuts is known for their crazy doughnuts and have been featured on food network for it."  See More

"A common tourist stop here is Voodoo Doughnuts, which offers silly doughnuts - think a pixie stick, cereal, or cookie covered doughnut - that have become quite "talked about" around here."  See More

"Everyone also will tell you to go to Voodoo Doughnuts and wait in that ridiculous line."  See More

Powell's City of Books (just a cool place to stop) is nearby and the popular Voodoo Doughnuts is a quick walk from there."  See More

"Voodoo Doughnuts, 22 SW 3rd Avenue, is located nearby and open 24/7."  See More

"Of course you have to go to Voodoo Doughnuts."  See More

"I think Voodoo Doughnuts is a bit overhyped, but it's fun."  See More

"Roberta is right. Portland is very walkable. I usually park downtown in one of many parking garages and then forget the car and walk. You can easily walk the downtown blocks even up north to Powell's City of Books and the Pearl District (which has great restaurants) and back along the Gov Tom McCall Waterfront Park which has some restaurants and a great little coffee shop on the southern end. (We like the Bean and Tree's Sleeping Giant) Hit the local Portland Saturday Market on Saturday morning before you leave. It's been a market forever (I went there as a kid) and is just very Portland. If you like outdoor stuff and great views, go to the International Rose Test Garden and the nearby Japanese Gardens on the hill. The Rose gardens are free and have a great view of Mt. Hood on a nice day. If you want to drive, go just 30 minutes to the Columbia River and eat at Salty's on the Columbia which has excellent food and a beautiful view. Not far is The Deck which is much more casual, has a bar, and is also on the water (literally) and has a great view. Street food is VERY Portland, very delicious, and cheap! If you go to the area of 9th and Alder (close to Powell's books), you'll find an entire city block completely lined with food trucks from Indian to German. All delicious and a great place to just nosh. Portland is also known for microbreweries, so you'll find tons of amazing beers there. I can't remember the name of the one I used to go to, but you won't have a problem tasting a lot of beer - I'd start here...(."  See More

"Other Portland things to do: Voodoo Doughnuts."  See More

"The Portland Saturday Market and Voodoo Doughnuts are a must!"  See More

"Oh I'm so glad you have 5 days! You'll certainly be able to fill them. I'm going to refer you to some answers that I've given to other Portland questions and then give you the clifnotes version below that lists kayaking and hiking areas that are just stunning. ."  See More

"Portland also has some great eateries, with two well-known establishments being Voodoo Doughnuts and Salt & Straw Ice Cream."  See More

"NW 23rd Ave is a fun, artsy "hippy" area with wonderful shopping and some great restaurants including the popular local Pizzicato Pizza that actually has multiple locations around Portland, including one a PDX just in case you get addicted and need a fix before boarding your return flight. If you want a more upscale area Lake Oswego downtown is great. Local arts and crafts in the Portland are the best that I have found anywhere. There is a Portland Saturday Market ;"  See More

"By the way, if it's your first time in Portland, you also have to have a donut at Voodoo Doughnut!"  See More

"This might be a totally cliche Portland recommendation, but Voodoo Doughnut, because people do regularly have their nuptials there."  See More

"I'm not sure how old these places are but you absolutely have to enjoy a Voodoo Doughnut and enjoy a bite to eat at Salvador Molly's"  See More

"Have fun there and have a Stumptown Coffee and a Voodoo Doughnut for me!"  See More
