Description:

As a small city clustered on the banks of the Piscataqua River, Portsmouth has adapted well to its surroundings.  Case in point is the annual Pocket Gardens of Portsmouth tour which is conducted each spring. Organized by Portsmouth's South Church congregation, this year's tour will take place on June 17 and 18. As always, the tour will feature a guided interpretation of several, award winning small gardens tucked beside the compelling, classic brownstones and quaint clapboard homes that are so vital to Portsmouth's historical character. Along the way, light refreshments are served and several stops feature music performed by some of the city's best artists. It's a great way to greet spring and an even better way to get to know Portsmouth.
