Many old-timers enjoyed the Old Port Galley which was a Fish 'n' Chips favorite for years! When this landmark restaurant closed its doors, the chief cook Ramon decided to open his own place. La Cocina de Ramon (basically, Ramon's Kitchen) is located in the heart of town.As you enter the restaurant you may appreciate the Mexican style furniture, paintings by local artists of sunny flowers, courtyards and other Mexico-inspired themes, colorful table settings and linen napkins. Ramon may come out to greet you or stop by during your meal. Homemade salsas and quality drinks will start you off and your meal may be a choice of seafood, Mexican favorites, steak, chicken or a sizzling platter of Fajitas. There is a full bar and a selection of desserts which you will certainly enjoy.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. La Cocina de Ramon is open from 8 am to 9 pm each day except Tuesday. Ramon also caters weddings, makes wedding cakes and will cater other special events.
