Description:

A tour of the El Pinacate Biosphere Reserve and the Grand Altar Desert will leave you with an unforgettable appreciation for the unique beauty of the Sonoran Desert. The Pinacate Biosphere Reserve and Altar Desert is listed as number four of the 13 Marvels of Mexico. This is nature at its most rugged, most harsh, most beautiful and at its best!

El Pinacate Reserve is over 6,000 square kilometers and actually reaches from the Sea of Cortés to the Arizona border, where it is called both the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge and the Organ Pipe National Monument. This volcanic desert has a moon-like quality of vast sand dunes and gigantic volcanic crater depressions. The Elegante crater is the largest and most visited.

Sonoran Desert Tours offer experienced and certified guides, security, comfort, bilingual guides, interpretive tour at both the Shuk Toak Visitor Center and onto the National Park of El Pinacate. You may choose from star-gazing in the desert's black of night, camping, hiking tours, dinner tours, or a driving tour with interpretive tours in the Reserve of Alto Gulf of California or a Mountain Bike ride. Each tour option is a great outdoor activity for you or your family.
