Even if a flutter on the roulette tables or a round of Texas hold 'em doesn't appeal, the location, restaurants on site, in-house theatre and general bonhomie of Star City make it a highly desirable place to stay.Choose from three types of accommodation; 5-star hotel rooms, serviced apartments or luxury suites. All are opulently appointed, offer panoramic views, have marble bathrooms and 24-hour room service. There are about 500 rooms all up.
If you can tear yourself away from this luxury, Sean's Kitchen (you must try the rabbit pie), Lotus Pond (Cantonese dining in the Palace Garden) or the Vietnames Fat Noodle, are sure to tempt the taste buds.
Star City is also home to Sydney's Lyric Theatre, which stages major Broadway-style shows, musicals (Dr Zhivago had its world premiere here in February 2011), and other live performances.
And if you can manage to step outside, all that Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Pyrmont and the western CBD has to offer is right on your doorstep.
