Washoe Valley

In between Carson City and Reno lies several valleys including Steamboat Valley, Pleasant Valley and Washoe Valley. Washoe Valley, named after the Native American tribe who wintered in this area is divided in half by two lakes, Big Washoe and Little Washoe. This area is most well known for great fishing, wind surfing, kayaking and camping. East Washoe Valley, or New Washoe City, has a few services and restaurants and is home to the Washoe State park where you can picnic, camp and hike. West Washoe Valley has trail access to the Tahoe Range and several trails will take you straight up to the Tahoe Rim Trail. The West side also has several state parks and a golf course.
