Description:
The focal point of Rio's festive fun, this truly enormous Christmas tree stands at 85 metres tall and twinkles with some 3.3 million lights. The 'Arvore de Natal de Lagoa' sits right in the centre of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Rio's beautiful city lake, and is a spectacular sight when lit. The switching on of the lights, which takes place each November, is a spectacle in itself, with big name musical stars performing at a free concert by the lakeside.
