Description:

For all its culinary diversity, Salt Lake City actually has a small hole in its repertoire when it comes Greek dining. Though many establishments serve a rather greasy-spoon or fast-food-esque version of Greek, few offer a refined version of this cuisine. Luckily for Salt Lake City, long-time Aristo Boutsikakis moved from Coney Island, New York to the Wasatch Region. After working in the industry 10 years (and just five of living in Utah), he opened Aristo's. Now serving food for six years, this has become a staple in the Salt Lake Valley.

Self-described as serving "simple, earthy, and robust fare", this east-downtown restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating (as weather allows). For five years running, it has been voted by City Weekly readers as "Best Greek". Menu items include boureki, kokkinisto, dakos, gigantes, tzatsiki, and pastruma. The menu includes small plates (great for sampling new-to-you items), soups and salads, entrees, as well as plenty of vegetarian and child-friendly items.
