Description:

Founded as a nonprofit in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith, VSA (Very Special Arts)/ Art Access has served a niche in the Salt Lake Area, promoting and displaying the works primarily of artists with disabilities. Not just a gallery, this functions as a full-fledged community center designed to help those with disabilities learn and experience the world in an enriched fashion through their participation in the arts.

The gallery is an extension of this center, showcasing some of the area's best artists -regardless of disabilities. Impressive exhibits feature regional paintings, photography, and more. Art Access is a member of the Salt Lake Gallery Association and a participant in the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll, held every third Friday of each month. Located west of downtown Salt Lake City in a refurbished industrial complex, this shares its neighborhood with many, many other galleries and art studios. Consider visiting during the Gallery Stroll, or check online for its calendar of workshops, events, and the like.
