Description:

When in Salt Lake City, look to your east. The massive range that dominates the skyline is known as the Wasatch Mountains. Running north-south, and stretching more than 150 miles, these mountains divide the Great Basin Region, in the west, from the Rocky Mountain region, to the east. They rise approximately 1.5 vertical miles from the valley floors, to their highest point, 11,928 feet, at the top of Mt. Nebo. It is within the canyons and along the hillsides of this range that you'll find nearly all of Utah's ski resorts, as well as nearly all of the water supply to Salt Lake City.
