Description:

Get a 360-degree view of Salzburg from a 19th century perspective at the Panorama museum. Inside, a cyclorama, painted by Michael Sattler between 1825 and 1829, shows what the city and the surrounding countryside looked like from the Hohenfestung. In panels five metres high and 26 metres long, you'll see details of daily life as well as city- and landscapes. Special interactive technology allows you to toggle between the historic view and scenes of modern life. Using a special touch-screen monitor you can locate information about many points of interest in and around the city. Telescopes on the viewing platform bring you close to the action as you scan the streets and courtyards of old Salzburg. The museum entrance is located on the north side of the Neue Residenz, around the corner of the building from the Salzburg Museum entrance. A special combination ticket is available.
