Los Cabos is not known for its mountains and waterfalls, per se, yet we have that too! A short trip north from San Jose Del Cabo (1/2 hour) and you will come across first the town of Miraflores then shortly after the town of Santiago. Both are great for accessing the Sierra de la Laguna biosphere. In the biosphere there are many options: waterfalls, hot springs, hiking trails, mountain biking, zip lines, ATV tours, eco-cabins and a few restaurants. Many organic farms are found in this area. There is a small entrance fee at some locations. Hiking up the mountains you will find pines, oaks and many other types of flora you probably didn't expect to find here. This area is growing in popularity and locals and government are promoting eco-tourism here. Great spots for day trips or stay overnight in a local hotel or rent a cabin. Multi-day hiking trips can also be arranged, crossing over the mountain range and arriving on the Pacific side close to Todo Santos.
