Should you find yourself exploring the vulumptuous campus of UC Santa Cruz and have a sudden craving for a burrito, nachos, or a quesadilla, or there just doesn't seem to be any place to eat open, head up the steep hill to Merrill College and into the college's very own Tacos Moreno. Nestled in between dorms and rec rooms, the peach colored walls of Tacos Moreno blend in surprisingly well with the redwooded scenery. The food here is cheap, a little greasy, but savory and delicious. The carnitas are highly recommended. Usually a favorite haunt for money-strapped college students, a surprising number of locals will head up here just to get a meal. Moreno offers a nice reprieve from walking around and a relaxing, even authentic atmosphere to refuel. If you're unsure how to get here, just ask a student. They'll point you in the right direction.
