Try the goat cheese salad for a tangy yet filling salad.

NileGuide Expert tip:

This is one of the breeziest, most shaded and coolest parts of this neighborhood for when the summer sun gets to be too much.

Description:

This good café is situated in the Plaza Mulato Gil de Catrso in Santiago's cobblestoned strip of Lastarría. The café itself is attached to the MAVI (Visual Arts) museum, and can be accessed eeither through the couryard or through the museum, with which it shares a restroom.

There is outdoor seating as well, in the shaded patio, and the menu is fresh and European-inspired, with hearty salads with good cheese, high-quality ingredients such as smoked salmon and quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar with which to season them. They also have a nice tea menu, serve sandwiches and juices and ahve some of the best service you are likely to see in this part of town.

For the area, which tends to be overpriced, the prices are quite reasonable, and there is gnerally not a hufe amount of traffic to the café, so you can sit for as long as you want without feeling like you're overstaying your welcome.
