Description:

This restaurant, loated in a a garden-basement level area beside and below the W hotel on tony Isidora Goyonochea in Las Condes has a strong following. They've combined some of the best ingredients with a strong preparation and presentation to create what is one of the loveliest places to lunch opened recently in this neighborhood.

They specialize in sandwiches on fresh-baked baguettes, including one with tuna and another on ciabatta with proscuitto. The pastas are also a winner here, including the often-requested squash gnocchi and the black raviolis filled with salmon in shrimp sauce (made at Pasta e Vino, another standout restaurant in Santiago). Large leafy salads, including one topped with roast beef round out hte menu.

What Coquinaria does is pull together the best of what is available locally and from out of town. Which is why their chocolate deserts are made by La Fete, their icecreams by Il Maestrale and the meats and cheeses they import are chosen carefully and to great acclaim.

If you've not yet run through your budget (this place is pricey, but unique), there's a sizeable store attached where you can buy more recipe tidbits to go. They will also prepare meals to go.
