The newest addition to the Crown Casino and Hotel network, the Metropol is said to be the most luxurious within its stable. The $300 million AUD hotel has 658 rooms (579 hotel rooms, 34 studios, 12 spa accommodation rooms, 32 lofts and one apartment-style residence) and has a urban/metropolitan design. Views either look out over the city or the bay. Highlights include an architecturally striking futuristic podium, a day spa located on the 27th floor, and a sky bar and terrace on level 28th. Guests should also note that celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's restaurant Maze, is located in the hotel, and is surprisingly good value.
