Paul Wojciechowski and Jill Hurd have been offering horseback riding tours for 30 years at their farm near Fredriksted. Jill, who grew up on the island, takes visitors through the forest and onto the beach, while offering a running commentary about the history, flora and fauna of the area. Horses are matched with riders based on rider size and experience level. Kids are welcome too, either on top with the parent, or on their own steed. Payment is by cash or traveler's check only, and reservations must be made in advance by phone or e-mail. A two-hour ride costs about $90 per person.
