Music, tapas, bar. That's Tone. Might seem an incongruous mix to some, but not at this City venue occupying a stylishly converted warehouse in Surry Hills. It bills itself as a discerning space catering to music lovers, artists and party people. This is evidenced by walls adorned with large street art and top class PA and lighting systems.
Tone's mission is simple - provide a rich experience in a quality environment with great food and drinks at reasonable prices. And this they seem to do well. There is a laid-back vibe early in the night, aided by plush lounges and tasty tapas, although the table of British chicks next to us shared a sumptuous looking seafood platter.
After the post-work crowd have vacated the cocktail bar, a more funkier inner city crew file in and fill the compact space, with many taking up positions near the dance floor in readiness for the DJ. Table service is friendly yet professionally; you could say the same about Tone, in general.
