The balcony seats fill up quickly so get here early. Be sure to get your food order in at the bar to avoid a long wait.

Try a Blue Tongue beer from the Hunter Valley - on tap here.

Description:

This beloved old Paddington heritage pub has a new look. Upstairs at the local watering hole, the sitting rooms and private dining room are all done up with rich wood, brass finishes, chandeliers and chesterfield sofas and huge armchairs as well as a working fireplace. Sharing food with friends is on the menu here, with lots of platters, small plates, and bar food options to choose from. A 'mixed long board' (a wooden board stacked with hot nibbles like chilli prawns, salt and pepper squid, stuffed and baked cheesy mushrooms, tasty veal, pork and sage meatballs in a rich tomato sauce) as well as a serve of good old Aussie potato wedges will set you up for a Sunday afternoon sharing a jug of Pims, a glass of wine from a very decent list or a cool draught beer from the Hunter Valley while listening to summer tunes on the deck and balcony. Feel like something more substantial? The after-work crowd comes here for upscale pub grub:a pot of mussels in sparkling wine, chicken and white truffle pie or chorizo and prawn paella.
