It's not about what's on the menu, but how they do it at this inner-city hideaway. Hidden away on between the businesses of Commonwealth Street, this small café takes its coffee very seriously. When entering the blackboard gives you three espresso options, the house blend (excellent) and two origin beans. Tables made from remade workbenchs, old framed photographs, a mural showing the evolution of man from ape to the coffee-drinking dominant species we are today and old tin mugs and cutlery are all to be expected, so it goes without saying, Joe Black offers as much atmosphere as it does great coffee.
