Description:

Built between 1524 and 1648, the Plaza de la ConstituciĆ³n, also known as Old Arms Square was the starting point for the city, it was around it that the buildings were planned.
In the center of the Square, a XIX Century kiosk, the Fountain of the Santa Cruz and several modern sculptures can be seen.
Around the square, many colonial buildings and 28 XVI Century arcades complete the view from this beautiful garden. These arcades now house many typical restaurants, and they're the entrance for some important buildings.
The square itself is a great way of spending an afternoon, just sitting there, watching people go by, listening to some music, enjoying the trees and flowers surrounding you. It's no wonder why this is the social heart of the city.
