Description:
The Vancouver Art Gallery is a gem in itself to go and visit, but throw in a delightful cafe and wonderful patio, and you've got yourself an afternoon of pure bliss. Located just off of Howe Street, and up the stairs, you will find yourself amongst the plentiful patio tables and large white umbrellas. Walk through the patio and into the cafe, where you will also find plenty of indoor seating for those rainy days. The Gallery Cafe's set up is very casual and convenient, allowing you to get up and order something at your convenience. The long glass display refrigerator is full of all sorts of salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts that are all made in house on a daily basis. They also offer two different soups, and it's not uncommon to see vegan and gluten free options. They don't have them every day, but they do make appearances. There are a few standard salads, like their grilled vegetable and goat cheese salad, a tuna nicoise and a grilled chicken salad that are always on the menu, but they also make a three or four daily salads as well. The entrees change regularly, so you will never tire of ordering the same old thing. The Gallery Cafe is well known for their desserts that they make in house; they're decadently delicious! If the mood strikes you, grab a latte, beer, glass of wine or whatever tickles your fancy, and sit back and enjoy the sounds of classical music, birds chirping and people interacting. The prices are very reasonable here, too!
