Description:

Chicanna Ecovillage Resort is the largest full-service hotel near the Mayan ruins at Xpujil, Becan, and Chicanna, located half way across the southern Yucatan Peninsula. Many large tour groups make this resort their base. The hotel prides itself on being ecologically sound and self-sufficient by using natural ventilation and solar water heating systems. The 42 guest rooms are decorated in modern interpretations of traditional Mayan styles and are interspersed throughout the hotel's extensive gardens in low-rise pale blue and light green buildings. All rooms have screened windows with wooden louvers for privacy and bedside tables with good reading lamps. Bathrooms are en suite and some of them are handicap accessible, featuring sliding adjustable showerheads and secure handrails. La Biosfera Restaurant serves individual guests while La Palapa Restaurant is reserved for tour groups. The hotel's swimming pool is popular with guests returning from a long day's trek through the jungle.
