Description:

Villa Vera Puerto Mio is part of the Raintrees Vacation Club but it happily does not carry over any of the blandness that often comes with chain hotels.  It is a small resort of 23 rooms located outside of Zihuatanejo on a peninsula at the edge of the bay.  This unique perch affords guests unique views that most tourists won't find.  From your terrace you will be able to look into the bay towards Zihuatanejo and the beaches but also can look out the the lighthouse and the open waters of the Pacific Ocean.  The view and private resort grounds will more than make up for the fact that it is a 15 minute steep walk down into town and an additional 15-30 to local beaches (or a quick $3-4 cab ride).  

The 30 acres of grounds at the Villa Vera Puerto Mio are lushly over-planted to create an isolated jungle feeling.  It's easy to get lost roaming around but the very attentive staff is always nearby to point you to the pool or the bar if you lose you way.  The service at Villa Vera is some of the best in town and the staff will help you coordinate special dinners onsite or at local restaurants, day trips and tours with a local driver or any spa or sport services you wish.

Many of the rooms have private jacuzzi baths, terraces, kitchens and living areas.  They are decorated with their surroundings in mind with mosquito-netting canopies, bamboo furniture and crisp white linens to evoke the tropical feel.  The rooms vary from "large hotel room" to "massive 3-level suite" so make sure you know which room you are getting upon reservation and payment.
