Cafe Zähringer has some of the best loose-leaf tea selection in Zurich. All varieties can be ordered by the cup or by the teapot.

Description:

Founded in the 1980's, Cafe Zähringer is a part of the same movement that created the famous Rote Fabrik and other counterculture landmarks in Zurich. The restaurant is run by a collective whose mission is to serve ecologically sound and socially responsible food. Menu items are often seasonal with an emphasis on local ingredients. On the same square as the Zurich public library, the cafe has a student-friendly feel, comfortable for those who want to spend a few hours with a good book. On Sunday morning, Zähringer serves a Swiss-style brunch: croissants (or gipfelis), bread, challah-like zopf, cheese, jam, honey, juice and coffee. Outside seating is available when the weather is warm.
