Description:

Named after the Greek muse of astronomy, the Urania Observatory, or Urania Sternwarte in German, has been a part of the Zurich skyline since 1907. In addition to being able to view the star, the observatory offers a great view of the city, lake and Alps. Despite city light pollution, it is possible to view the moon, galaxies, star clusters, and other highlights of the solar system. The Urania Observatory is open to the public Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 PM in all types of weather. In fact, it is recommended that you visit regardless of the forecast. Be sure to dress warmly should you visit in the winter.
