Coconut Inn

• This low-budget bed-and-breakfast is about a 20-minute walk inland from Palm Beach, in a hamlet near Santa Anna Church. Brick pathways lined by coconut palms border the five bright yellow-and-white stucco buildings built between 1975 and 1996. The corrugated metal rooftops are painted to look like terra-cotta tile. Wood decks with rustic chairs front the ground-floor rooms; second-floor units have balconies. The basic accommodations feature white tile floors and simple furnishings. All rooms have a kitchenette or full kitchen. The bathrooms sport Liliputian sinks and offer only cold running water. The motel serves a complimentary hot breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, and juice in its now-defunct restaurant. Shops and restaurants are nearby but take care walking at night, as the winding road to the main street has no sidewalk.
