One thing Barcelona hasn't quite figured out yet, is the breakfast, brunch culture. With most Barcelona and Spanish breakfasts consisting of a croissant and a cortado (small coffee with milk), it's hard to find a restaurant that knows how to serve a cheese omelet with a side of bacon. That being said, little by little Barcelona is slowly starting to jump on the breakfast bandwagon with new places springing up across the city.
Our number two pick is centrally located in the Gotico. Bliss's comfortable couches and chairs are ideal for a Saturday or Sunday brunch, in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their breakfast menu is fairly extensive. They also have tasty pastries which are made in house.
Not far from Bliss, behind the huge post office in the Gothic Quarter, is our number six pick, Milk Bar and Bistro. Ideal during the winter months (as they don't have an outdoor patio), Milk has a large variety of omelets, french toasts, juices and coffees. They're open for brunch Thursday-Sunday and the rest of the week they have happy hour specials every day from 5-7pm, serving really cheap cocktails.
If you feel like splurging on an all you can eat, elaborate brunch in one of the nicest restaurants in Barcelona, then our number ten pick is the place to go. Galaxo restaurant, situated in the famous, Casa Fuster hotel, at the edge of Gracia neighborhood, has one of the best brunches in the city, albeit at a price. It's about 25 euros per person, but the food is delicious, the service impeccable and if anything, its worth a visit just to see the stunning hotel.
