Things to Do Near Sants Train Station, Barcelona, Spain

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • If you're about to hop on a train, bus or metro at Sants station but have some time to kill, there are plenty of fun and exciting things to do which are close by, to keep yourself entertained for a few hours. Although Sants isn't located directly in the city center, it's close to major attractions and the Sants neighborhood is a great place to take a stroll and explore another one of Barcelona's unique barrios.

Our number two pick for things to do near Sants Train station in Barcelona, is atop Montjuic. Poble Espanyol is a makeshift 'pueblo' (small town) with gorgeous views overlooking the whole of Barcelona. This is a fun way to spend a few hours, strolling through the medieval streets, shopping or browsing. Poble Espanyol also turns into an excellent night time venue, so if you have time, stick around until the sun goes down and check out Teraza club.

Looking to buy food, clothes or just browse through a random mix of items, our number five pick is a great place to find things you never knew you needed. Mercat Sant Antoni is a popular market, especially on weekends. It has a wide variety of eclectic merchandise, but be sure to go early to avoid the crowds.

A short trek away from Sants Train station, is our number seven pick. L'hospital de la Santa Creu i San Pau, it not just a hospital, but a modernist masterpiece. Designed by Domènech i Montaner this incredibly structured building started in 1902 but wasn't completed until more than 30 years later, when his son finished what Domenech had begun.
