Situated very close to the main Cardiff Bay hotels and new restaurants, the Packet has retained its traditional air despite the extensive modernizations going on on its doorstep. The pub is furnished with a late 19th century dark wood bar and old photographs of the docks, which include Scott's 1910 expedition leaving the harbor on the Terra Nova. Generally frequented by the older crowd, the bar has a friendly atmosphere. Children are very welcome for meals.
