- The accommodation at this smart Georgian town house with its older cottage, barn and stables behind, represents outstanding value for money. Neither the two luxury rooms with period furniture, one with a four-poster bed, nor the split level Barn suite with a king size double bed and two singles, will break the bank. Several of the rooms have their own access, most are en suite and all are non-smoking. It's not all formal elegance: there's a snug bar in the former meat cellar; the lovely labrador, Tia Maria, greets you in the lounge; and the dining room is relaxed and homely. The Beacons has an excellent chef who cooks imaginative, sophisticated dishes with some interesting Moroccan influences. The restaurant is open 6.30pm to 9pm, Tuesday to Saturday, with a three course menu for around £18.
