Description:
In the former pilot house at the Swansea Marina, this seafood restaurant lies above a fishing tackle shop. It couldn't be more maritime, and you are served some of the freshest and best seafood in Wales, each dish based on the catch of the day. The owner said that the fishermen "land their catch within a salmon's leap of my back door." That's how fresh it is. Most of the dishes are solidly British, but there are a few Mediterranean touches as well. Full-flavor dishes include pot-roasted free-range chicken with smoked bacon, or braised half shoulder of Welsh lamb. Roast breast of pheasant is accompanied by black pudding and a Calvados sauce, and a haunch of venison that would have pleased Henry VIII also appears on the menu with a sauce made of plums and Jack Daniel's.
