Begin your shopping experience browsing along the Magnificent Mile, lined with the best shops and department stores. Even more shopping can be found at Water Tower Place, a multi-level shopping center at the north end of the "Mag Mile." If you are traveling with young children, a stop by the famous American Girl Place is a must. They will also have a blast at Navy Pier, which holds the Children's Museum, a Ferris wheel, IMAX Theater, and the Crystal Gardens. If the weather is warm and sunny grab a beach ball and head to Oak Street Beach or Ohio Street Beach, and if time allows take a sight-seeing tour of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, provided by Wendella Sightseeing Boats. Other highlights are the International Museum of Surgical Science for the science-minded, the spectacular views from the John Hancock Building, and great performances at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
