The Best of NileGuide
- Lake Tahoe, with its casinos and outdoor sports is also a kid-friendly location. Let the little ones run a bit wild in the mountain wilderness or calm them down with some art classes. If you are a guest of the Hyatt Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, take a break from the kids and let them have their own day at Camp Hyatt. If you want spend some time with them, take them to the KidZone Museum in Truckee, the Nevada State Museum in Carson City or ride the famous V&T Railroad in Virginia City. The Nevada Museum of Art in Reno also offers art and design classes for youngsters. For some fun winter sports, head to the numerous skiing and boarding resorts or to the tube parks of Northstar, Soda Springs, Heavenly and Squaw Valley USA. For something different, do some ice skating at Squaw's High Camp, the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena or Davis Creek in Washoe Valley. In summer, the sky's the limit with water sports and great beaches. Kid's will love Sand Harbor, King's Beach or a hike down to Vikingsholm Castle. Rent a kayak or two or take a ride on several of the large paddlewheelers that head over to Emerald Bay. Children can also enjoy some light hiking around Donner Lake, the Tahoe Meadows or on the Tahoe Rim Trail. Also, don't forget to just let them jump into the cool, blue water for a swim.
