At first glance, restaurants in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro can appear to be little more than tourist traps serving drab dishes. Scratch the surface, however, and you'll find some of the best restaurants in Rio de Janeiro.
If you have the cash and are looking for a good place to splurge, you'll find fine French dining at Le Pré-Catelan, while Cipriani, the elegant Italian restaurant at the equally elegant Copacabana Palace, is the ultimate romantic restaurant in Rio de Janeiro. For slightly less formal indulgence, Pergula, Copacabana Palace's poolside restaurant has a more relaxed dress code and fabulous cocktails.

Copacabana restaurants offer plenty of opportuntity for carnivores to sink their teeth into top quality meat, with Marius Carnes and Carretao excellent churrascarias for top-end and mid-range budgets respectively.
For the ultimate holiday experience, it doesn't get much better than drinking and dining on the beach, with Pizzeria Rainbow being one of many good options right on the sands.
