• The Renaissance is the southernmost and best located of three beachfront tower hotels just north of Gordon Street. Pluses are direct beach access (no road to cross) and low rates that can often be found with a bit of searching. When this guide was published, most rooms (except the more pricey executive rooms) were dated and worn; the club lounge and food services were less than top quality. There is a pleasant terrace cafe overlooking the sea in good weather; and an indoor heated pool ensures a chance to swim, even in winter. Rooms have balconies.
