When it comes to food, Vancouverites are smitten and we're very spoiled when it comes to choice. Sometimes, all you want is some old fashioned (North) American fare and there's no shortage of options.
Burgoo Bistro serves up the most ultimate of comfort foods! They have a few locations, so you're never far from a hot bowl of tasty soup and an equally delicious sandwich. The atmosphere isn't your typical cafe, so you can feel like you're going out for dinner, but eating mom's cooking. Perhaps, even better than your mom's!
Acme Cafe; the name says it all. Everything from the pie, to the meatloaf, grilled cheese sandwich and chicken pot pie is delicious. The interior is clean and everything you want a diner to look like. Deacon's Corner is another fantastic diner-style spot, but what makes them unique is their down-home, Southern cooking. It's hard to find biscuits and gravy in Vancouver, but you will definitely find it on their menu.
Society Restaurant & Lounge offers a sexy atmosphere but a menu that will bring out the kid in you. There are grown-up additions, like lobster in the mac and cheese and Kobe meatballs, so you can keep it classy. They have not cheated your inner child when it comes to dessert and they even have candy floss on the menu.
The Templeton is the spot to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have everything from tasty omelets, burgers and vegetarian chili, and what makes it even better is that they like to use local and organic where possible.
If it's a juicy burger that you're after, Vera's Burger Shack will fit the bill. With multiple locations, it's easy to satisfy that burger and fries craving when it strikes!
