  • Fun is the name of the game at Zion. Who better to show you a great time than guides who know the area inside and out and can take you hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, horseback riding, canyoneering, even sky diving over this gorgeous area?

For the younger members of the family, Zion's Junior Ranger Program offers hands-on activities that stretch their minds and exercise their energy at the same time. Earning a badge (or a patch for kids under six) can be a fun way to learn about this amazing natural playground.

Now, obviously most visitors check out Zion for the hiking. We've got great lists of hikes, so we didn't make this one all about them. But we'd like to highlight two of them here: the Pa'rus Trail for its easy stroll that nearly everyone can handle, and the Lower Emerald Pools hike because it showcases some great Zion views and again can be tackled by most visitors.

Need a break from spectacular hikes? Watch a giant-size IMAX movie at the Zion Canyon Theatre! During the warm summertime, this can be a great place to literally chill out for a while. The Tanner Amphitheater brings live entertainment under the stars practically right out side the Park's gates, with the sheer canyon walls as backdrop. And just up the road from the Kolob Canyons area in Cedar City is the renowned Shakespearean Festival, showing plays daily and nightly summer and fall.
