So where do the cool kids go in Edinburgh? When the sun goes down, the beats get bumping at these hip clubs. But it's not just the see-and-be-seen factor that make these clubs cool. From music to drinks to pulsing dance floor, these clubs do it up right. Just don't tell the doorman you're with the band. It never works.
The Tolbooth Tavern offers great food and drink at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is fun and chilled out. But beware...things keep getting knocked over at the Tolbooth and the resident ghost here is often blamed (even though it might not even be his fault - which seems a little unfair).
Espionage, Edinburgh's Top Nightclub, Bar and Event Venue can be found just off the Grassmarket and in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. It's a thriving labyrinth of clubbing activity spread over five floors, with a superb range of music and drinks on each. We're open every night of the week, 365 days a year.
Check out Cas Rock if you appreciate the hidden talents of more obscure bands. Squeeze into the tight space and slam and mosh to the sounds. Other than hosting some mediocre acts, this is also one of the places to hear some of the area's most exciting new musical efforts. Be prepared for a loud, sticky and dark evening.
The Three Sisters offers four different bars: A Gothic section, an American bar with pitchers and shooters, an Irish bar with confessional booths and Guinness, and the outdoor courtyard, where barbecues take place in the summer. The dance venue upstairs makes it a popular choice for stag and hen parties. The pub is named after three sisters said to have stayed here and performed at the Tailor's Hall.
