Merchant City

The trendy Glasgow Merchant City, has a colourful past and zesty future. It lies in the east of the city and is one of the oldest areas of Glasgow , St Mungo founded the city here and it is also home to the infamous city merchants of the 18th and early 19th centuries. Today this eastern quarter is experiencing a renaissance with some of Glasgow's most upmarket stores, restaurants, bars,  theatres, galleries and music venues. This eastern quarter also has it's own annual festival which attracts thousands of national and international guests!
