Description:
There's something in the air at Le Pub. While nearby competitors in the alleys that extend between Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien offer cheap drinks and decent food, this bar injects a bit of atmosphere into the equation. The space itself is appealing. Inside, red-painted walls and bulky wooden tables help foment a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels more European than Asian. Outside, meanwhile, the compact collection of tables are separated from the street by a perimeter bar which makes it easy for punters to ignore the harmless, but persistent, attention of street hawkers and booksellers. Other fillips worth noting include a progressive music policy which leans heavily on classic British indie and a great selection of beers that encompasses local favorites as well as imports from Belgium, Australia and other notable brews from other parts of the lager-swilling world.
